#1: C-c-cold in our hotel room, but so nice to sleep in air conditioning. Last morning in Sydney! Lots of packing to do with continental breakfast thrown in. The last bag—ack! Broken zipper! 30 minutes later B has solved the problem and we’re off for one last jaunt. Explore the Sydney Observatory (above)—very old, used originally to keep time with ball on roof—and enjoy view from hill of bridge and Darling Harbor. Then to the bridge! Make it halfway across before having to turn back… time to get backs and got to the airport. Make it in time… B realized on the way we can’t carry the beer on. Doh! More quick repacking at the airport—with fingers crossed the bottles don’t break in all the scuba gear. On the plane to LA (what time/day is it?) with half of the US junior national swim team. On the road home… #2: Land in LA before we take off! Rental car to Keith’s, then nice hot shower and rest time. More to pack! Out to Zeke’s for BBQ dinner, and then to the airport—again! No lines this time, and there early to wait for the redeye. Night #2 on a plane…
