High wire act

Wake up to rain, river, and waterfalls everywhere! And the MOZZIES! Quick start to Queenstown with photo stops along the way; gas up in Te Anau (again) and then lunch by Lake Wakatipu again. Queenstown, bustling with activity! B signs up to Fly By Wire, then a ride up to Bob’s Peak in the gondola. Beautiful view—but cold rain! Too nasty to explore walking tracks. Time for B to fly! Ride to canon is enough for N. B lookin’ fine in his flight suit. Has a great flight! Lots of photos (above) and video to scare both moms back home. Back to Queenstown for an early dinner (out! at a pub!) and then wander around the wharf/lakeside for a bit. See the TSS Earnslaw Steamship in harbor. Time for drive to Gelnorchy—spectacular, breathtaking. N’s favorite spot in New Zealand along the lake—view of Pig, Pigeon, and Tree Islands, and Mt. Earnslaw in the distance. Stunning. At camp, B collapses on mate for one hour nap while N packs. Last night in the campervan! N out early; B does photos and videos.
